چکیده

A dynamic and stochastic distribution problem with a number of terminals and a eet of vehicles is analyzed. Customers request the transportation of batches of loads between diierent origins and destinations. A request can be accepted or rejected; if the request is accepted, a reward is received. Holding costs for vehicles and loads at terminals as well as transportation costs are included in the model. The objective is to determine a policy for accepting transportation requests and for dispatching vehicles that maximizes the expected value (rewards minus costs) of operating the distribution system. A Markov decision process model is developed, optimal policies are characterized, and algorithms that exploit the structure of the problem are developed.

Coordinating Order Acceptance and Batch Delivery for an Integrated Supply Chain Scheduling

This paper develops Order Acceptance for an Integrated Production-Distribution Problem in which Batch Delivery is implemented. The aim of this problem is to coordinate: (1) rejecting some of the orders (2) production scheduling of the accepted orders and (3) batch delivery to maximize Total Net Profit. A Mixed Integer Programming is proposed for the problem. In addition, a hybrid meta-heuristic...

An optimization model for management of empty containers in distribution network of a logistics company under uncertainty

In transportation via containers, unbalanced movement of loaded containers forces shipping companies to reposition empty containers. This study addresses the problem of empty container repositioning (ECR) in the distribution network of a European logistics company, where some restrictions impose decision making in an uncertain environment. The problem involves dispatching empty contain...

Green Supply Chain Network Design under Multi-mode Production and Uncertainty

A multi-periodic, multi-echelon green supply chain network consisting of manufacturing plants, potential distribution centers, and customers is developed. The manufacturing plants can provide the products in three modes including production in regular time, production in over time, or by subcontracting. The problem has three objectives including minimization of the total costs of the green supp...

A Mathematical Model to Optimize Allocation Sequence in Dispatching Problem

Truck-Shovel fleet, as the most common transportation system in open-pit mines, has a significant part of mining costs, for which optimal management can lead to substantial cost reductions. Among the available dispatch mathematical models, the multi-stage approach is well suited for allocating trucks to respected shovels in a dynamic dispatching program. However, with this kind of modeling sequ...

New scheduling rules for a dynamic flexible flow line problem with sequence-dependent setup times

In the literature, the application of multi-objective dynamic scheduling problem and simple priority rules are widely studied. Although these rules are not efficient enough due to simplicity and lack of general insight, composite dispatching rules have a very suitable performance because they result from experiments. In this paper, a dynamic flexible flow line problem with sequence-dependent se...
